Admissions Requirements - Research MSc Program
Acceptance into the MSc program is very competitive. Applicants must meet the admissions requirements of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and also the program. Please read the following carefully.
Requirements:
| 1) | Agreement from a qualified faculty member eligible to supervise MSc students and a member of the Faculty of Graduate Studies who is willing to supervise your project. Please see the directory of potential MSc Supervisors. | ||||||
| 2) | Completion of a recognized baccalaureate degree in a health-related discipline such as Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Life Sciences or Social Sciences, and the successful completion of the following prerequisite: a minimum of 3 credits in research methods and/or analysis | ||||||

Academic excellence: overall average of at least B+ (76% at UBC) in senior level courses (300 and 400 level)International Students may need to meet further requirements as outlined by the Faculty of Graduate Studies. click here | ||||||

English Competency
Applicants who have completed a degree in which English is not the primary language of instruction must present evidence of competency to pursue studies in the English Language prior to being extended an offer of admission. Acceptable English language proficiency tests for applicants to the Master of Science program are:

Application Procedures
Deadlines:
Applicants to our MSc program should obtain, complete and submit necessary forms and transcripts according to the following deadlines:
February 1 to begin studies in September
June 1 to begin studies in January
For applications for the September term, we receive online applications from November 1- January 15.
For applications for the January term, we receive online applications from April 1- June 1.
Application Fees:
A non refundable application fee is required for each department you apply to. Application fess cannot be deferred and are valid for only one application year. The online application accommodates credit card payment via Visa or Mastercard for this fee.

Canadians and Permanent Residents: (CDN) $90
International Applicants: (CDN) $150 (USD$115)
Required Documents
Applications will NOT be considered complete and therefore NOT considered until all of the following documents are received:

A completed Graduate Studies application form. IMPORTANT NOTE: When you enter the FOGS online application site, please select MASTER of SCIENCE as your program. Later, you will be prompted to select Rehabilitation Sciences. Please do not select Master of Rehabilitation Sciences, as this is a different program.

Two copies of official transcripts from all college or universities attended (or in which you are currently enrolled). For current and former UBC students, you do not need to send in official transcripts for your UBC program as part of your graduate application package. However, please be aware that you are still responsible for submitting transcripts from all other post-secondary institutions that you have attended (e.g., exchange year, transfer year, etc.). These transcripts must be mailed directly by the registrar of the institution to the School. If any transcript is not in English or French, an official translation must also be provided.

Three letters of reference, at least one of which should be written by an individual who has knowledge of the applicant's academic and/or research abilities. These letters must be mailed directly to the school by the referees or the letters may be submitted online.

Selection is based on academic qualifications, letters of reference, clinical experience, and motivation to pursue graduate study as reflected in the written statement.
